- ¾ cup milk
- 2 cups flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- Frosting
- 1 ¼ cups Confectioners' sugar
- 8 ounces Cream cheese, Temptee
- ½ cup Heavy cream

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. |
2. Grease the insides of two 8-inch round cake pans. |
3. Whisk the flour, baking powder, and salt together in a bowl. Set aside. |
4. In a separate bowl, cream the butter and sugar until fluffy. |
5. Add the eggs to the butter-and-sugar mixture one at a time, stirring continuously. |
6. Add the milk and vanilla to the mixture. |
7. Using a mixer, combine the wet and dry ingredients. |
8. Mix until smooth, approximately one minute. |
9. Pour the mixture into the pans and bake for 30-35 minutes. |
10. The cake is done when a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. |
11. Allow the cake to cool, then top with frosting and cherries, if desired. |
