- 1 pint fresh strawberries
- 2 cup water
- ½ cup sugar
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1 juice of lemon
- 1 dash nutmeg
- 2 cup sour cream
- ½ cup dry red wine

1. Combine first six ingredients in a saucepan and bring to a boil. |
2. Lower heat and simmer, uncovered for 15 minutes until strawberries are very soft. Discard cinnamon stick and puree mixture in a food processor or blender. |
3. Chill puree until serving time. At serving time, stir in sour sour cream and wine, beating with a wire whisk to combine ingredients well. |
4. Serves 4-6. |
Notes
Cinnamon can be quite strong, so either eliminate or just use half a stick. Allow to chill for at least four hours. |
